THE EXAMINATION OF TRUE IDOLATRY<\/b><\/p>\n

Just because you don’t worship one god the same as another doesn’t mean that idolatry doesn’t exist.<\/i><\/center><\/p>\n

1. The queen of heaven.<\/span><\/span>(Jer. 44:15-19,25)
\nA. Incense and drink offerings.
\nB. Made cakes. (Jer. 7:18)
\nC. Absence of blood offerings or true sacrifice.
\n– Concern was not over sin. Heb. 9:22<\/i>
\nGoal was to obtain prosperity, and an easy life.
\n– Easy religion of convenience. Ps. 54:6<\/i>
\nNot sacrificing of self. Phil. 2:17, Rom. 12:1-2<\/i>
\n– True sacrifice pleases God. I Pet. 2:5<\/i><\/p>\n

2. <\/span> The power of Egypt.<\/span> <\/span>(Jer. 43:7, 44:8)
\nA. Cannot save them from God’s judgment.(Jer. 42:16)
\nB. True safety is only in the Lord. Ps. 4:8<\/i><\/p>\n

3. The wisdom of self.<\/span><\/span>(Jer. 44:16)
\nA. God’s thoughts are not man’s thoughts. Is. 55:8-9<\/i>
\n*Why not ? Is. 29:14<\/i>
\n– Man has fallen by sin.
\n– Man doesn’t know even the most basic solutions. Rom. 7:18<\/i>
\n– God is always superior to man.
\n– Man is easily distracted from original purpose.
\nB. Is doomed. I Cor. 1:19<\/i>
