WITHOUT GOD’S PURPOSE
This message is not about a life without any purpose, or even without knowing that there is a Divine purpose. We are speaking about a life that fails to actively submit to doing God’s Divine purpose.
Living life according to God’s purpose involves many smaller efforts throughout a person’s life. It is not a single act of obedience, but a continuing commitment that daily makes Jesus ‘LORD.”
1. THE PURPOSE OF GOD IS A LIFE-LONG PURPOSE.
A. THE WORLD’S PURPOSES ARE AT WAR WITH THE PURPOSES OF GOD.
This is important to understand, because the news, the education system, governments, and other media present the world’s purposes, in hopes of convincing people to abandon the purposes of God. THE WORLD CONTINUES TO FOLLOW IT’S OWN PURPOSE. ***People have been convinced that if you make a law, make something legal, it is moral, and it is right to follow it. That is not true. Slavery was legal. In Nazi Germany, it was legal to send Jews to their death. In Rome, it was legal to torture and kill Christians. In the Soviet Union it was legal to spy on your neighbor and have them thrown into jail for having a Bible. LAWS do not make something right.
The world has a warped sense of values. It always has. We have been sheltered in America to how the world thinks until recently. Now America thinks like the rest of the world. The world doesn’t truly care about human life. The soldiers didn’t care about life, just their jobs.
Acts 27:42-43 And the soldiers’ counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape. But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:
B. SOLOMON DIDN’T TAKE THAT SERIOUSLY. HE MADE IT A ONE-SHOT EFFORT.
1 Kings 5:5 And, behold, I purpose to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spake unto David my father, saying, Thy son, whom I will set upon thy throne in thy room, he shall build an house unto My name.
Then see I Kings 11:1-8 where Solomon departed from God.
C. NOT ALL RELIGIOUS PURPOSES PLEASE GOD. HE SHOULD BE GIVEN EXACTLY WHAT HE WANTS.
Isaiah 1:11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto Me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.
D. FULFILLING PURPOSES OF GOD REQUIRE THE RIGHT TIMING.
Ecclesiastes 3:17 I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.
E. SOME PEOPLE HAVE A PURPOSE THAT IS SO ENDURING THAT PEOPLE KNOW THEM BY IT.
Ephesians 6:22 Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.
Colossians 4:8 Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that he might know your estate, and comfort your hearts;
2. THE PURPOSE OF GOD WILL ALWAYS BE UNDER ATTACK.
A. EZRA.From the secular world.
Ezra 4:5 And hired counsellors against them, to frustrate their purpose, all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia.
B. THE DEVIL WANTS US TO THINK THAT ALL WILL WORK OUT FOR GOOD EVEN IF WE DON’T FOLLOW HIS PURPOSE.
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.
3. IT IS GOD’S PURPOSE FOR YOU TO BE SAVED.
God went through the torture of paying for your sins so that you might have eternal life if you receive Him. That is the purpose that He sent Jesus down to earth, so that He might provide a way for you to have real and everlasting life.
1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE DEVIL ? YOUR DESTRUCTION. GOD’S PURPOSE IS TO TAKE YOU OUT OF THE HANDS OF THE DEVIL’S PURPOSE AND GIVE YOU FORGIVENESS AND NEW LIFE.
