Seniors

The Solid Rock Senior Group was started to encourage those of us who would feel alone and no longer able to participate in the works of the church. Our aim is to serve God as He has given us ability, to serve man as the Holy Spirit leads, to encourage each other in the Word, and to fellowship according to the Word.

We use as an example to lead us, the Scripture in Matthew 25:34 to 36 — “Then the King shall say unto them on His right hand, come ye blessed of my Father inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungered and you gave Me meat: I was thirsty and you gave Me drink, I was a stranger and you took Me in, Naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you visited Me, I was in prison and you came unto Me.”

We try very hard to cover each and every one of these in the months from September through May. We also try to serve all of those who have more strenuous ministries where ever and when ever we can.

The men have work days, when lighter work in the church is done. The women sometimes have projects that they can do at home, while other projects we gather together to accomplish.

I encourage anyone age 55 and over to join us ! Let us all be able to say as Paul says in 2 Timothy 4:7-8 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth here is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:”
