TOGETHERNESS OF THE BRETHREN

MAN HAS THIS ASPECT OF TOGETHERNESS AND UNITY–MANKIND IS UNIFIED IN TOGETHER DISOBEYING GOD.
Psalms 14:3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
1. DOING THINGS TOGETHER COUNTS TO GOD.
A. THE ACTIONS OF GENERATIONS ARE PUT TOGETHER WHEN GOD JUDGES A NATION.
Isaiah 65:7 Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the LORD, which have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed Me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their former work into their bosom.
B. WALKING DAILY WITH EACH OTHER SHOULD BE PLEASANT.
Psalms 133:1 «A Song of degrees of David.» Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
C. GOD IS GOING TO BRING TOGETHER ALL HIS PEOPLE. SO, GET ALONG WITH THEM AND LOVE THEM NOW.
Matthew 24:31 And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
D. GOD ENJOYS BRINGING BELIEVERS TOGETHER BEFORE HE GIVES THEM POWER.
Luke 9:1 Then He called His twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.
HE COULD HAVE DONE THIS SEPARATELY.
–HE ALSO BROUGHT THEM TOGETHER AT PENTECOST. NO RECORD OF ANYONE OUTSIDE THIS GROUP BEING FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT AT THIS TIME. THEY HAD TO DISPLAY A SPIRIT OF UNITY IN ORDER FOR GOD TO BLESS THEM INDIVIDUALLY.
2. WE ARE INSTRUCTED TO SERVE GOD TOGETHER.
Acts 1:4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith He, ye have heard of Me.
Acts 1:6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of Him, saying, Lord, wilt Thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel ?
Acts 1:15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)
Acts 2:6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
Acts 2:44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
3. WE HAVE SOME OF THE SAME EXPERIENCES TOGETHER.
A. BAPTISM AND SALVATION.
Romans 6:5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection:
B. WE BECAME HEIRS TOGETHER.
Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together.
C. WE GO THROUGH DIFFICULTIES TOGETHER.
Romans 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
D. WE SHOULD BE PRAYING TOGETHER.
Romans 15:30 Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;
E. WE SHOULD BE WORKING TOGETHER.
1 Corinthians 3:9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.
F. WE SHOULD BE HAVING THE SAME FAITH.
1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
4. WE MUST NOT BE LINKED TOGETHER WITH THE LOST.
2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
