ANNOUNCEMENTS

It’s been six months since we invited Hunter Bosarge to become our interim pastor, and we are excited to announce that we have a new permanent pastor !  The congregation of Solid Rock Bible Church has sought the Lord and after much prayer has voted to welcome Pastor Hunter Bosarge as our new pastor !  Over the past few months we have had the opportunity to watch Pastor Bosarge present the Word of God and provide leadership to our congregation, and we are looking ahead to what the Lord will do through him as he seeks to guide Solid Rock Bible Church into the next chapter of serving the Lord.  Pastor Ed MacWilliams will be remembered and greatly missed but as we now focus ahead, “…let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith…” (Hebrews 12:1b-2a)

P.S. Archived messages presented by Pastor Ed MacWilliams may be found at www.bfrtv.com

UPDATE NOVEMBER 2022:

We are thrilled to announce that we have recently welcomed Pastor Hunter Bosarge as our new interim pastor !  Stephen MacWilliams has stepped down as interim pastor, and Brother Hunter will serve as the interim pastor at Solid Rock for the duration of six months.  At the end of that time a vote will be held to determine if he will become our new permanent pastor !

We are excited to welcome Stephen MacWilliams as interim pastor at Solid Rock Bible Church ! He has graciously agreed to accept the position to provide leadership to our congregation as we search for a permanent pastor. Please be sure to pray for him that the Lord will provide him the strength and wisdom needed to fulfill what God wants for our church. The Lord’s work here at SRBC must continue and we are excited to see what new things the Lord has ahead !

Food for thought from Steve: Feast, Famine, or just plain Choking ?
What are you SERIOUSLY AND FERVENTLY doing for the Lord that lasts forever ?

“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:” Matthew 6:19-20

“It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness.” Lamentations 3-22-23

A special thank you to all who have been praying and those who have gone above and beyond to show the love of the Lord to the people of Solid Rock Bible Church, especially the family of Pastor Ed. For those who were not able to attend the memorial service in person, the video is now available on YouTube !

Most of you know that we are committed to continuing the work of the Lord at SRBC, and honoring the work that Pastor Ed started by being faithful to our Savior. Please continue to pray for the leaders as they make decision to help guide the church through the coming days. Many of you have asked “What now ?” and the bottom line is, as it has always been, we seek the Lord and follow what He says. The church leaders are in communication and prayerfully working together to ensure that Solid Rock Bible Church not only continues on, but becomes even more powerful in the community and effective in serving the Lord around the world !

We praise the Lord for all he has done though this church, and look forward to all that He will do in the future !

And in case you were wondering… there IS church Wednesday night, 4-14-2021 ! See you there !

John 14:15 – “If ye love Me, keep My commandments.”

Hebrews 13:8 – “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”

John 14:26 – “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”

A Memorial Service for Dr. Ed J. MacWilliams will be held at Solid Rock Bible Church, on Saturday, April 10th, at 1pm. A photo slideshow will begin before the service at 12:30 for those who’d like to come early. The service will start promptly at 1pm, with a fellowship to follow.

He has requested that this be a joyful time, where the Lord is the One who is the center of attention. We look forward to praising the Lord for all the lives brought to Christ through the efforts of Pastor Ed, and thanking the Lord for the ways he’s impacted each of our lives.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to support Blueprint For Revival Ministries.

For those who cannot attend in person, we will be streaming the service live right here. Just click the big yellow button above to go to the live streaming page. Our video streaming service does not require any software to be installed, but you may wish to update your browser to the latest version. We have also learned that due to some devices with low volumes, you may wish to have headphones or external speakers available.

Our prayers have been answered ! Pastor Ed has been set free of the illness that was attacking his body, and is now in Heaven with his beloved Savior. This is obviously not the way in which we wanted the answer to come, but we trust that the Lord’s plans are perfect and that He knows what is best in each situation.

The work at Solid Rock Bible Church and Blueprint For Revival Ministries will continue. As the first step toward that goal, we’ll be having church tonight at 7pm, hope to see you there !

2 Corinthians 5:8 – “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”

John 14:1-3 – “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

Don’t forget that we’re gathering for the Wednesday evening service tomorrow night at 7pm !

You won’t want to miss it !

Matthew 18:20 – “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

Psalms 122:1 – “(A Song of degrees of David.) I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.”

As we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus today, we have more cause to celebrate ! Stephen was able to join with us again, much to the delight of all ! In addition, Pastor Ed has shown slight improvement two days in a row ! This is both very encouraging and very energizing to step up the prayers as we see answers coming forth ! We want to see this momentum continue and receive the answers the Lord has waiting for us. So let’s not slack off, this is good news, but we all know the very long journey ahead, and while we don’t expect it to be easy by any means, we are encouraged that there IS a journey to take !

Ephesians 6:18 – “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”

2 Corinthians 10:4 – “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;”

Psalms 5:12 – “For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt Thou compass him as with a shield.”

Please join us tomorrow for Sunday morning services to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus !

We’ll have morning services at 10am & 11am, but not Sonrise service, or evening service this year. We are so thankful to be able to meet tomorrow morning to celebrate all the Lord has done, His faithfulness through every hardship and His ultimate victory over sin and death ! There will be kids classes and fun activities, so bring the whole family and join us tomorrow morning !

1 Peter 1:3 – “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to His abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead”

Romans 8:11 – “But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you.”

We have gotten some more details today on Pastor Ed’s condition that show a decline that we would not like to see. They indicate that his body is just not keeping up with the fight. Of course we know that on a day like today, about 2000 years ago, all hope seemed lost. As Jesus hung on a cross, and took His last breath, it seemed as if all He stood for and all He’d taught was for nothing. As if the deliverance He’d promised would never come to pass. Then, on that third day, everything changed ! God showed His power of death itself ! In the resurrection of Jesus we find the reason for our hope. Let’s keep our eyes on Jesus, the source of our hope and look ahead holding onto that hope for a future firmly planted in Christ.

“Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” Luke 12:27, 31-32

For those who weren’t able to make it to church tonight, just a quick update… Pastor Ed is back to being in “normal” critical condition. Turned out the problem with his lungs wasn’t what they thought, and while he is still very sick, enough to be called “critical”, it’s not as bad as they thought yesterday. We are very grateful, and yet still vigilant in our prayers !

“From the end of the earth will I cry unto Thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the Rock that is higher than I.”
Psalms 61:2

So while the past few days Pastor Ed has remained precarious but steady, today saw a worsening of his condition. There is a problem with the lungs that has the doctors very concerned. Essentially, he’s gone from being in critical condition to being what we’re calling “super critical.” We know that God is bigger than any doctors and according to the medical data, he is at the point that only God’s intervention will return him to us. Please seek the Lord’s face to see His perfect will done ! We know that He is a mighty God and able to do anything He chooses, and we are asking humbly that He chooses to return our dear Pastor to us.

“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” James 5:16

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33

We also know that sometimes God’s plans are bigger than what we can see on the surface, and not always what we’d choose…

Speaking of Jesus just before the crucifixion… “And he went a little further, and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.” Matthew 26:39

As a reminder, we will be having a services tomorrow evening at 7pm ! Hope to see you there !

So, inquiring minds would probably like some news of Pastor Ed’s condition. As of this afternoon he was about the same, still in critical condition, on the ventilator in the ICU. So, while we look forward to things improving, we are very thankful they are not worsening !

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” -Joshua 1:9

“Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;” -Ephesians 5:20

Today’s update on Pastor Ed doesn’t show a lot of change yet. He is still in critical condition on the ventilator. They are letting him lay on his stomach some to let the air get to different parts of the lungs. This has shown to be a very effective treatment allowing for better breathing and reducing fluid buildup in the lungs. Please continue to pray intensely !

There is good news though… Tomorrow is Sunday, and that means we get to gather to worship our great and mighty God ! Services will be in the morning only, at 10am & 11am, and while we won’t be having an evening service tomorrow, there WILL be on Wednesday, at 7pm !

For those of who are not able to join us in person, we will still have live streaming available on the website (we do recommend using headphones or some kind of external speakers), and a new video of Pastor Ed will be online also !

Now, just in case anyone was wondering if they should come or not, here’s a quick checklist to see what reasons some have have for not attending…

TOP 10 REASONS PEOPLE DON’T COME TO CHURCH IN 2021

1) We don’t serve coffee at SRBC, and they make better coffee at home anyway.

2) They found a really cool podcast to listen to instead.

3) Hazmat suits are required to enter.

4) They are legitimately sick and/or contagious.

5) They don’t really have a desire to assemble together with the brethren.

6) The church recommends wearing masks.

7) They can stay in their pajamas and watch from home while sipping the coffee they made at home.

8) Netflix just got a new season of their favorite show.

9) They have legitimate health risks that make it dangerous for them to be around people.

10) They don’t remember the purpose of coming to church, it’s not about us, IT’S ALL ABOUT HIM !

If you were face to face with Jesus, which of these “reasons” would He find acceptable?

Some scriptures that may help in your decision making process !

Hebrews 10:23-25“Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for He is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

James 4:17“Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”

Please pray ! I just received word that Pastor Ed has been moved to the ICU and is being placed on a ventilator. I don’t have any further details right now, just please be praying !

**************

The elders of the church have asked for a day of fasting and prayer from 6pm tonight to 6pm tomorrow night on behalf of Pastor Ed.

Some scriptures on fasting to refresh your memory.

“But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.” Matthew 6:17-18

“Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.” Joel 2:12-13

“And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes: And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments; We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments: … Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord’s sake.” Daniel 9:3-5, 17

“And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned [certain] days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven,” Nehemiah 1:4

“So we fasted and besought our God for this: and he was intreated of us.” Ezra 8:23

Some days come with good news. Some days not. Today is a little of both. Today we got word that Earl B. has gone home to be with the Lord. Our prayers are with his family, and we trust the Lord be the comfort greater than an human can offer.

For the good news, Stephen is doing well at home and he is anxious to be back with the fellowship ! We know this may take some time, but we thank the Lord for the dramatic improvement in his health, and look forward to being witness his complete recovery !

Pastor Ed’s medical reports remain unchanged, however he was cleared to receive a single visitor today ! Mrs. Dorothy was able to visit him today for the first time in two weeks ! The doctors hoped that she’d be able to cheer him up, and help speed his recovery. Seems to have definitely cheered him up, and reports are she even got him to eat a bit today ! Please pray that this will be the catalyst he needs to begin truly recovering !

There will not be an in-person service tomorrow night, however I do have another video that will be available tomorrow. More good things are in the works for the days to come, please pray for the church leadership as they work out logistics and make a plan to keep things going until the pastor is ready to come back.

Hebrews 21:1-2 “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Colossians 1:9-11 “For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;”

Today’s medical updates on Pastor Ed & Stephen don’t really show much change.  Possibly because Sunday being the day of rest, that’s what they’re doing !  I did hear that Earl is not improving so increased prayer has been asked for him.  Please don’t mistake any positive reports or reports that nothing has changed as a sign to back off on praying !  These men are still fighting a battle and the battle isn’t won yet, so let’s keep fighting on their behalf !

This morning’s services were a blessing to those who were able to attend in person and those joining online !  We look forward to getting back in the swing of things !  Until we’re back full tilt, there’s a new video posted below and on YouTube !

1 Thessalonians 5:17Pray without ceasing.

Romans 5:1-5Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:  By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

UPDATE: Saturday 3-20-2021

Stephen is home !  He was released from the hospital, and is resting at home.  He is asking that people hold off on phone calls or visits until he regains more strength.

Pastor Ed is also beginning to improve !  We don’t know if this will be a steady uphill climb from here, or if there will be dips along the way, but we know that the Lord is faithful and He is answering prayers !

SERVICES THIS SUNDAY 3-21-2021 !

It’s official !  We’re opening back up for in person services !

They will be modified and we still ask that masks be worn, and if you are sick please pray with us from home.  I will have another video available on Sunday for those not able to make it in person, but for those of you well enough, we look forward to a blessed time together !

So that’s this Sunday, in person services AND kids classes for both Sunday School at 10am, and the main service at 11am !  No evening service just yet, but we praise the Lord for His provision and allowing a way for us to gather for spiritual food and prayer in person !

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

“Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.” Psalm 150:1-2

Today, we have good news, and not so good news.  The good news is that Stephen continues to improve and continues to do well on the lower oxygen !  We rejoice and praise the Lord for His healing and look forward to a complete recovery !

The not so good news is that Pastor Ed is worse today.  Where they had been able to reduce his oxygen yesterday, today they had to turn his oxygen back up.  He also isn’t eating enough and that’s even after sending tempting yummy food from outside the hospital.  The nurses report some other developments that are rather concerning.  This is a very nasty illness and while he continues to fight, his body is weakening and we need double down in our prayers to hold him up and fight on his behalf !

Ephesians 6:18 – Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Isaiah 62:6 – I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, [which] shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence,

Good news !  There’s been improvements in both Stephen’s and to a lesser degree, Pastor Ed’s condition !  Both of their oxygen levels are holding steady with their inhaled oxygen being reduced.  Stephen was up and around walking again today, and there are rumors of his being released soon !  Pastor Ed has not regained strength yet, so while is breathing is slowly improving, that is still an area in need of prayer.

I was able to upload another video to YouTube, titled “Lingering Where We Should Not”, which some of you may have already discovered !

Also, a reminder, there will be no in-person gathering tonight, but let’s still set aside the time to join together from our homes to pray for the Pastor, those still sick, and the renewed effectiveness of this church in our community !  So, that’s at 7pm, wherever you are, as Philippians 4:6 says “Be careful (anxious) for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

Not a lot to report today. Pastor Ed seems about the same, no improvement, but no real decline. He doesn’t have much appetite, so we used DoorDash delivery service to send some chicken soup and macaroni and cheese from Chick-Fil-A this afternoon. BBQ is scheduled to arrive tomorrow ! I know a lot of you are itching to be able to help, so if you’d like to contribute, DoorDash offers gift cards in stores and online. I would ask, check with me first (by email or text), in case other’s have beaten you to the punch. We don’t expect him to be there for too many days, so no need to have a filled DoorDash account sitting idle after he’s home ! 🙂

Stephen on the other hand, is slowly but steadily improving ! He was up and walking around the nurses station today, and has had his oxygen flow lowered again, which is another step toward coming home ! We are definitely praising the Lord for His healing hand !

In other announcements, there will not be a service tomorrow night (Wednesday, 3-17-2021), however Sunday morning services are planned ! More on that later, but for tomorrow I plan to try to have another video available. These will be posted to the website, and also directly on Youtube, so feel free to subscribe to the Youtube channel for notifications of new videos.

Instead of a service tomorrow, let’s set aside the same time, 7-8pm to dedicate to some intensive prayer for the Pastor and the others fighting these illnesses. Sunday morning we had a very powerful prayer meeting, so let’s keep that momentum going. Perhaps you can call someone on the phone and pray aloud with them. Have a time of thanksgiving and praise together ! Let’s keep focused on the purpose of the church, and pray intensely to get our people home and the church back up and serving !

James 4:17 “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”

James 5:15-17 “And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

Ephesians 6:10 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of HIS might.

Thank you all for laboring with us in prayer for Pastor Ed and those battling illnesses !  We know this is a battle that will not be quickly won, but we are seeing the Lord working.  Yesterday Pastor Ed showed a small improvement in his condition !  So, please, please, please don’t stop !  God is working, but this is just the beginning of a very long journey to recovery and the danger has not yet passed.  We look forward to a complete recovery, and rejoice in this small sign of the Lord’s answer to prayer !

Stephen also continues to improve, though very slowly.  He is stable and sitting up in a chair and there is talk of getting him up walking the halls soon.  He also has a very long road to recovery and will need the strength of the Lord to overcome the aftereffects which can linger for some time.

We also got word last night that Earl B. had been admitted to the hospital as well, so please be praying for him !  Others are still coming down sick, so this is not something is that is over yet, but we must continue the battle.  The work of the Lord does not stop even in the midst of illness and isolation.  In addition to praying, if you have a voice and a phone, please reach out to your brothers and sisters in the Lord.  Encourage them !  Share scriptures !  Pray together !  We can overcome because as it says in 1 John 4:4  “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

ANNOUNCEMENT :

PRAYER MEETING TOMORROW – 3-14-2021 – 11AM

PURPOSE:  Pray for the Pastor and other’s fighting serious illness.

This week we have lost a brother in Christ to Covid-19, David Heisler.  Pastor Ed and Stephen are still in the hospital.  Stephen seems to be holding his own, but Pastor Ed has not shown any medical improvement.

We need to get more serious in our prayers to fight for these brothers !  As when Moses grew weary and there were men to hold up his arms until the victory was won, so we need to be holding up their arms as they fight this illness.

We still don’t want anyone else to get sick, so we’ll be meeting outside in the field the children use for their activities.  We’d ask that families stay together, masks be worn, and if you are sick please pray with us from home.

It’s time for faith to overcome fear and for God to have the victory in this church !

Romans 8:37 – Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.

1 John 5:4 – For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our faith.

John 16:33 – These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

P.S. There is a video of a sermon from February on the website, and YouTube.

www.solidrockbiblechurch.com or directly on Youtube

Dear Brethren, as you may already know, there have been a number of illnesses going around the past few weeks. We’ve had a few people admitted to the hospital, and yesterday Pastor Ed and Stephen were among them. They have both been diagnosed with viral pneumonia, and we are thankful they are receiving the care they need, and look forward to them both being back with us soon ! Visitors are not allowed at this time, and we ask you to hold off on phone calls to spare the Pastor’s voice and speed his recovery.

In the mean time, the church leadership has decided to give it another week before we try to meet in person again, so that means no services Wednesday 3-10-2021, or Sunday 3-14-2021. There are plans in the works to be ready to have some type of meeting on the following Wednesday, but as always we remain flexible and open to the Lord’s leading.

As a side note, I was informed that the audio files on the church website were not working properly, and when I checked into it, sure enough, yep, it was broke ! After a little poking around, I discovered the audio files on the pages with printable outlines to be the only ones effected. I will work on fixing those soon but in the mean time, I’ve put some different audio messages on the main page that seem to be working ok. If anyone has any trouble with them, please let me know here at this address, and I’ll do my best to get it solved !

Please pray for your brothers and sisters in Christ, and especially the Pastor ! If you’d like to encourage him, please call someone you know and share something the Lord has done in your life ! Be a light ! Be an encouragement ! Be the example of Jesus to those around you !

Dear Brethren, the contagious illnesses going around are still taking their toll.  We need to commit more time and energy to praying for one another rather than speculating of possible causes.  Let’s get to the light at the end of the tunnel, and look ahead to a more powerful submission in the church to the plans of God !  Stay fed through the messages online, and lets take more time on Sunday to encourage one another.  Obviously, services for this Sunday are cancelled in an abundance of care for the health of the brethren while the church is being sanitized.

I love you, pray for you, and desperately miss seeing you.  Oh, pray for your pastor and wife, too !
A servant of the Lord Jesus,

Pastor Ed

A MESSAGE TO GOD’S PEOPLE GOING THROUGH HEALTH CRISIS

1 Peter 1:6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

WHY COULD THEY GREATLY REJOICE ? THEY KNEW THERE WAS LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL.

WHEN YOU GO THROUGH SICKNESS, EITHER SHORT TERM OR LONGER, YOU FACE A SERIES OF TEMPTATIONS OR OPPORTUNITIES THAT ARE UNIQUE FOR YOU.

You can immerse yourself in your pain and suffering and keep your head buried under the covers for days, (which is hard NOT to do sometimes), but when we have the times where you are feeling better, you need to steal the good focus which awaits you and start to plan.
  • PLAN to be more compassionate for others
  • PLAN for strengthen your ministry at the church. Make it more effective with teaching and prayer.
  • PLAN to help others who are down with the latest contagious disease.
  • PLAN to increase your personal time with the Lord. Ask, as David did…

Psalms 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

Sometimes people go through a troubled time in their own Bible-believing church, and instead of being an encouragement to the brethren there, they choose to encourage the brethren to go to another church. SELF-desires should be put aside, and true saints of God will uplift one another and stay true to the Word where God called them, not advertising for another church which only DISCOURAGES them.

  • PLAN TO BE WHAT GOD CALLED YOU TO BE.

Romans 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.

  • PLAN TO BE USEFUL TILL YOU LEAVE THIS WORLD TO GO TO BE WITH THE LORD.
The old nature says that you cannot be effective when you get older. The Holy Spirit destroys that argument through people like Abraham, Moses, Peter, John, the other disciples, and thousands of brethren whose testimonies are a light for us all.
  • IMPLEMENT the promises which God has given you to become MORE effective after you get hit with sickness.

Matthew 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

GOD BLESS YOU ! I love you !
